Edward Curtis, 68, of Mt. Pulaski, was stricken with a heart attack Tuesday and died at 2:10 p.m. He was conducting a closing-out sale at his farm south of Mt. Pulaski when stricken.
The body is at Schahl Funeral Home in Mt. Pulaski and visitation will be Thursday afternoon and evening. A Masonic service will be at 8 p.m. Services will at 2 p.m. Friday at the funeral home with the Rev. Ray O. Zumstein officiating. Burial will be in Steenbergen cemetery and military rites will be conducted.
The deceased was born March 2, 1892, a son of Hiram and Sarah Scroggins Curtis. He married Kathryn Kautz in Lincoln, Dec. 22, 1925, and she survives as do a son, Edward of Pittsburgh, Pa.; a brother, John of Mt. Pulaski; and two sisters, Mrs. Frances Bowers of Mt. Pulaski and Mrs. Ellen Piatt of Hartsburg. He served in World War One and was a member of the Masonic lodge and American Legion.
