Benjamin C. Donath, 79 of Storm Lake, Iowa, formerly of Lincoln, died at 9:30 am Wednesday 3 January 2001, at Mercy Hospital, Sioux City, Iowa, following a brief illness. Mr. Donath was employed by Illico Oil Co. in Lincoln for over 40 years, retiring in 1978 as purchasing agent. He was a U.S. Army Air Corps veteran who served in World War II. Mr. Donath was born 19 June 1921, in Lincoln, a son of Benjamin and Coletha Seitz Donath. He married Ruth Jones 6 July 1942, in Lincoln. She survives. Also surviving are one daughter, Karen Donath of Bloomington; two sons, Michael Donath of Lincoln and Benjamin Donath of Storm Lake, Iowa; two sisters, Alma Twardos of Lincoln and Edna Miller of Chestervale: one brother Paul Donath of Lincoln; and one granddaughter. Funeral services will be a 9:30 am Monday at Holy Family Church, with the Rev. Thomas Taylor officiating. Burial, with military rites, will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 pm Sunday at Kerrigan Funeral Home, with the Rosary and Service at 6:30 pm Sunday.
