Joseph A. Donath, 76, of 716 Third St., a retired coal miner and later an employee of Central Illinois Electric and Gas company, died at 4 p.m., Tuesday in St. Clara’s Hospital. Services will be at 9 a.m., Thursday from St. Mary’s church with Msgr. Leo P. Henkel officiating. Burial will be in St. Mary’s cemetery. Friends may call Wednesday afternoon and evening at Kerrigan Funeral Home and the rosary will be recited at 8 p.m. The deceased was born Oct. 31, 1882 in Braceville, the son of Henry and Magdalena Bessler Donath. His first marriage was to Lena Troeger in Lincoln Feb. 19, 1904 and she died in January of 1907. To this marriage was born a son, Henry who resides in Lincoln. In 1915 he married Mary Helen Boy who survives as do a son Raymond of Lincoln and a daughter Mrs. Rita Queen of Titusville, Fla., two brothers John and Ben Donath of Lincoln a sister, Mrs. Rose Tumulty of Springfield; 13 grandchildren and six great grandchildren preceding him in death wee a daughter and three brothers.
