Marie A. Donath, 84, a member of the Lincoln retail community for several years, died at 12:25 pm Wednesday, May 29, 1991, at Abraham Lincoln Memorial Hospital. Mrs. Donath and her husband Henry operated the Karmelkorn Shop in downtown Lincoln for 25 years before retiring in 1980. She was a member of Holy Family Church and the church’s Daughters of Isabella, Western Catholic Union and Holy Family Society. She also was a member of the Zonta Club and Republican Women’s Club. Mrs. Donath was born April 5, 1907, in Lincoln, a daughter of George and Anna Schmidt Eimer. She married Henry Donath on April 20, 1927, in Lincoln. He survives. Also surviving are three sons, Eugene of Lincoln, Robert of Springfield and Leo of Athens, Georgia; three brothers, Albert Eimer of Springfield, Andrew Eimer of Mariposa, California, and Paul Eimer of St. Joseph; one sister, Elizabeth Bree of Lincoln, 13 grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by one son, two brothers and one sister. Funeral services will be at 9:30 am Saturday at Holy Family Church with the Rev. Norman Goodman officiating. Burial will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 pm Friday at Kerrigan Funeral Home, with the rosary recited at 5 pm. Memorials may be made to the St. Clara’s Manor van fund.
