Mason City - Richard Thomas Harp, 69, of Mason City, died at 3:03 p.m. November
30, 2008 at Memorial Medical Center in Springfield, IL. He was born February 1,
1939, the son of James and Wilma (Stone) Harp in Lincoln, IL. He married Janet
Barker on November 22, 1968 at the Christian Church in Lincoln. She survives. Also surviving are four sons: Rob (Kelly) Harp of Mason City, James (Angie) Harp
of Mason City, Andrew Harp of Lincoln, IL, One foster son: Jody Harp of East
Peoria, IL. One daughter Michele Harp of Mason City; Eight grandchildren; one
brother; Marvin (Suzy) Harp of Mt. Pulaski. Two sisters; Loretta Harp of
Peoria, IL and Yvonne (Mark) Cheek, Lincoln, IL. He is preceded in death by his
parents. Mr. Harp owned and operated Harp's Farm and Home in Mason City. Before opening
the hardware store he retired from MII Inc. in Lincoln, IL. He is a member of
the First Christian Church in Mason City. A memorial Service for friends and family will be held at the First Christian
Church on Wednesday, December 3, 2008 at 7: p.m. There will be no visitation.
Cremation rites have been accorded. Memorials may be left in care of Richard
Harp's Family; where the family plans to divide them between local charities.
