Mrs. Esther Virginia Mileham, wife of Thomas Mileham of Lake Fork, died in the family home at 3:15 p.m. Saturday, March 13, 1943, aged 68 years, 1 month, and 7 days. She had been in failing health the past few years.

Mrs. Mileham was born Feb. 6, 1875, in Afton, Tenn., a daughter of Elza Richardson and Mary Ann Davis Jones. In Lincoln, Ill. during the year 1895, she was united in marriage to Thomas Andrew Mileham of Lake Fork vicinity. After being in southern Illinois for several years, they moved to Iowa and remained five years, and 22 years ago came to Lake Fork, and at present Mr. Mileham operates a general store. Mrs. Mileham was a member of the Lake Fork Christian church.

Decedent is survived by her husband, and two sisters, Mrs. Tina Parks of Decatur, and Mrs. James Moore, Lake Fork.

The body was removed to the Schahl funeral home in Mount Pulaski, and returned to the family home in Lake Fork Monday afternoon.

Funeral services were held in Lake Fork Christian church at 2:30 p.m. Tuesday, March 16, conducted by Rev. J. Wayne Staley of Mount Pulaski. Mrs. Grace Handlin and Miss Florence Stults sang two hymns, "Abide With Me," and "In the Garden," with Miss Flora Handlin as organ accompanist.

Burial was in Carlyle cemetery one mile north of Lake Fork. The pallbearers were Herbert and William Parks, Virgil Mileham, Elmer Foster, Charles Munyon, and William Koehler.
