ELMER E. MOORE, LAKE FORK, IS DEAD

Elmer E. Moore, lifelong resident of Lake Fork vicinity, died in his home west of the village at 12:10 p.m. Friday, April 8, 1949, aged 72 years, four months, and 18 days.

Mr. Moore was born Nov. 20, 1876 in Mount Pulaski township, near Lake Fork, son of Peter and Sarah Phillips Moore. He devoted his life to farming. Mr. Moore married Winnie Manley of his home community. Decedent was a member of the Lake Fork Christian church.

Besides his wife, he is survived by the following children: Floyd, of Lake Fork; Willie, East Peoria; Mrs. Lelah Burton, LeRoy; Mrs. Beulah Newell, Bloomington; Mrs. Ruby Hayes, Mackinaw; and Mrs. Maurine Gregg, Peoria. One brother, Edward, of Lake Fork, and one sister, Mrs. Etta Utech, in the state of Washington, also survive.

The body was removed to the Schahl Funeral Home in Mount Pulaski, and Saturday afternoon was returned to the family home.

Funeral services were held in the Lake Fork Christian church at 4 p.m. Sunday, conducted by Rev. Verne Barr of Lincoln. Two hymns, "No Night There" and "Good Night Here, Good Morning There", were sung by Paul R. Moore of Mount Pulaski, with piano accompaniment by Mrs. Rena Bryson of Lake Fork.

Burial was in the Carlyle Cemetery, one mile north of Lake Fork. Pallbearers were: William Bryson, Jess Litterly, Clyde Febus, Gene Peterson, James Follis, and Fred Schahl.
