DELLA PHILLIPS DIED IN LINCOLN

Mrs. Della Phillips died at 12:05 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 20, 1946, in her home at 872 South State st., Lincoln, Ill., after an extended illness, aged 55 years, 10 months and 16 days.

Della McCurry was born March 4, 1800 in Mount Pulaski township, Logan county, a daughter of Henry and Sarah Stokes McCurry, and lived in Cornland vicinity most of her girlhood days. In Springfield, Ill., Sept. 30, 1908, she married Joseph Phillips, and they located in Lincoln a number of years ago. She was a member of the Methodist church.

Besides her husband, she is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Lottie Farnam, East Peoria; three sons, Raymond Phillips, Lincoln, Philip Phillips, Peoria, and George Phillips, Springfield; two brothers, Henry (Bill) McCurry, of Cornland, and Thomas McCurry, living between Mount Pulaski and Lincoln; and four sisters, Mrs. Minnie McInturff, Williamsville; Mrs. John Glasco, Mount Pulaski; Mrs. Myrtle Hood, Dawson, and Mrs. Verna Overton, San Berardino, Calif.; also three granchildren.

The remains were removed to the Schahl funeral home in Mount Pulaski, where funeral services were conducted at 2 p.m. Tuesday by Rev. G.E. Baldridge of Chestnut.

Burial was in Carlyle cemetery four miles west of Mount Pulaski. The pallbearers, all from Cornland, were Thomas Phares, Ernest Criland, M. B. Drake, Ralph Cherry, Carl Criland and Everett Cherry.
