MT. PULASKI, Feb. 13 - The funeral of James K. Scroggin, a native of Mt. Pulaski township, were held at 1;30 p.m. this afternoon in the Lake Fork Christian Church. Rev. J. Wayne Staley, pastor of the Mt. Pulaski Christian church, conducted the services and music was in charge of members of the Lake Fork Christian church choir with Miss Flora Handlin at the organ.

Pallbearers were Frank Handlin, Milton Tarbox, Harry Piatt, John H. Clendenen, George Stults and Clyde Febus. Burial was in Carlyle cemetery two mile north of Lake Fork.

James Scroggin died at 3 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 11, in the home of Walter Manley in the village of Lake Fork, where he had made his home since retiring from the farm some four years ago.

He was a son of John and Emily Turley Scroggin. His father was a veteran of the Black Hawk war and came to Logan county in 1828. Decedent was born in Mt. Pulaski township March 12, 1846, and died at the age of 86 years, 10 months and 29 days. He never married and was the last member of this branch of the Scroggin family, six brothers and sisters preceding him in death.

Surviving are the following nieces and nephews: Mrs. Rena Goff, Bernard, Mo.; Mrs. Nancie Cantrall, Illiopolis; Mrs. Charles Williams, Eureka; J. L. Muir, Mt. Auburn and E. O. Muir, Decatur.
