In the name of God, amen. I, Katherina Amberg of Lincoln in the county of Logan and state of Illinois being of sound mind and memory, and considering the uncertainty of this frail and transitory life, do therefore make, ordain, publish, and declare this to be my last will and testament.

First, I order and direct that my executor hereinafter named, pay all my just debts and funeral expenses as soon after my decease as conveniently may be.

Second, After the payment of such funeral expenses and debts, I give, devise and bequeath to my children William Amberg, Nicholas Amberg, the children of my deceased daughter Theresia Goretzky, and my step-daughter Mrs. Elizabeth Pluth all my property real and personal, of which I may die possessed share and share alike. That is to say the real estate, if any, is to be sold and converted into cash and added to cash on hand. The children of my deceased daughter Theresia Goretzky to receive the share my daughter would have received if alive.

My sons Henry Amberg, John Amberg, and Louis Amberg I disinherit for the reason that they have shown lack of filial love and affection to me, their mother, in providing for my declining years.

My granddaughter, Florence Badour having received her proportionate share of the estate of my deceased husband John Amberg, Sr., is therefore not to participate in above distribution.

In order that there may be no misunderstanding as to the reason why above distinctions are made I wish to state that my sons William Amberg, Nicholas Amberg, and my step-daughter Elizabeth Pluth have given me their respective shares of the estate of my late husband, John Amberg, Sr., for my support in old age and are therefore entitled to whatever residue of my property remains.

Lastly, I make, constitute, and appoint William Amberg to be the executor of this, my last will and testament, hereby revoking all former wills by me made.

In witness whereof, I have hereto subscribed my name and affixed my seal, the 22nd day of October in the year of our Lord one thousand nine hundred and twelve.

This instrument was on the day of the date thereof, signed, published, and declared by the said testator Katharina Amberg to be her last will and testament in the presence of us who at her request have subscribed our names hereto as witnesses, in her presence, and in the presence of each other, believing the said Katharina Amberg to be at the time of so subscribing our names of sound mind and memory.
